Abstract
C57C29 14β,22R-epithiosteranes 1 were isolated from a Miocene sediment and their structures determined by 1D and 2D NMR. This novel series of sedimentary steroids presumably results from intramolecular incorporation of sulfur on steradiene precursors of algal origin.
